DSO @ The El Rey

Tonight, I traveled back in time to when I was 14 years old. Where, less than 300 miles away from Orchard Circle, on a Thursday night in October; The Grateful Dead took the stage at the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta, Maine and played the following set. I didn’t know who they were at the time. It would be another 3 years before I was introduced to the spidery riffs of one Jerome J. Garcia thanks to the brother Bill.

October 11, 1984 Augusta Civic Center, Augusta, Me. (Thu)

>1: Shakedown, Greatest, Peggy-O, Mama Tried> Big River, Ramble On, Looks Like Rain> Might As Well

>2: Bucket> Touch, Woman Smarter, Ship Of Fools, Playin> Drumz> Mr. Fantasy> Black Peter> Sugar Magnolia

>E: Day Job

>Filler: Dear Prudence, China Cat>Rider

Tonight, we took a Limo with some friends to see the Dark Star Orchestra, a Dead “coverband” (they are not a cover band). They played the exact show in it’s entirety. They were awesome. Spot on.

Later on, it began to rain, which was nice because they played Looks Like Rain, which, at the time, was nice.

Limos are also nice. Happy Birthday Linda!
