ONOUDINT…again???

by gungus on December 11, 2007

Well…As you know, I saw TOOL last night. And as you know, I’m into concert posters. That’s right, concert posters. :)

So, of course, one of the many things on my mind last night was if they would even have a poster for the show (they did) and would it be cheap enough to buy (it was!)?

Jace and I rolled out there with plenty of time to spare and soon found ourselves in a line to purchase a poster. For only 20 bucks too!! 20 bucks! I’m thinking, I’m going to get 2 of them! So I did. Then we ran to our seats and jumped around for a while in excitement on how great they were. Since the opening band had not even gone on yet, we decided to walk around.

<<begin my thought process here>>

…hmmmmm…I know how fast these posters go on ebay…and at only 20 bucks…maybe I should get another one….or two…the tickets were free and I was ready to spend upwards of $150 on that, so $80 on posters doesn’t seem so bad…

<<end my thought process here>>

So, with 4 posters now in my possession, we walk back to our seats. Opening band Trans AM is now taking the stage.

That’s when I remembered reading that Adam Jones (Tool’s guitarist and creative extraordinaire) was drawing on some of the posters and then putting them in with the rest of the posters for sale at the shows.

One more trip to the concession stand! The gigantic, bubbly cute girl behind the table smiled as I approached and said, “you again!” I gave her a big smile back and quitely asked if she had any “special” posters. She gave me a wink and with her lip ring causing a harsh lisp said, “I shertainly do shweety but they’re eighty bucksh eash. And I only have a few left.”

Now this is a predicament…I already have 4 posters. But these were signed by the whole band!!! Think of the resale value! So I bought 2. And made Jace buy one too.

That’s 6 posters. $240. What just happened?

Don’t judge me.
