Last night G and I went to see DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist at the Aneheim HOB. The whole night was awesome. When we got there, we walked through the ever surreal Downtown Disneyland. The place truly is the happiest place on earth. Kinda creepy though.
Once inside, I was shocked to see Kid Koala come out to open. He’s a favorite DJ of mine because he’s always so happy and real. He set up a big pad of white paper that he had pre-written messages on. Then during his set…he would run over and flip a sheet over to reveal a funny message to the crowd. And his spinning/scratching was sick! He’s so super-talented and creative. He wanted to be an elementary school teacher because he would have the most influence on kids that way. Very inspirational.
And of course, Shadow and Cut killed it….but I think Kid stole the show. Word.
